How Diverse Experiences Shaped Our Path to Grenkow Dental—by Dr. Grant Grenkow
Growing up surrounded by farms and dentistry, you’d think my path was set in stone in one of those fields. But life took me on a different journey. While I initially leaned towards a life on a dairy farm, destiny had Grant dentistry in store for me. However, my heart was soaring with the thoughts of flying jet aircraft in the Air Force. In my school days, I was employed at an airport cargo company during the summer time, and this experience inspired my interest in flying.
My brief experience in the Air Force, albeit unsuccessful thanks to an abnormal eye exam, brought me to a priceless experience. The then Dean of Dentistry had given me the opportunity to join dentists in the North, an experience that made me determine what type of dentist I would want to be. On graduating, I went west, but I missed the sunshine and settled in South Winnipeg. I gained diverse experiences working in various dental offices, even spending time in Nunavut.
Life took a beautiful turn when I met my wife, and together, we established our roots in Headingly, raising our children. Now, after these fulfilling chapters, we’re embarking on our next big adventure, Grenkow Dental.
At Grenkow Dental, our vision is to offer patients compassionate and practical Grant dentistry care that lasts a lifetime. We are committed to ensuring that we carry on this mission and offer tender care and support to our community in the coming years.
