How Diverse Experiences Shaped Our Path to Grenkow Dental—by Dr. Grant Grenkow
Growing up surrounded by farms and dentistry, you’d think my path was set in stone in one of those fields. But life took me on a different journey. While I initially leaned towards a life on a dairy farm, destiny had dentistry in store for me. Yet, my heart soared with dreams of flying jet planes in the Air Force. During my school years, I found myself working summers at an airport cargo company, an experience that fueled my passion for aviation.
Though my stint in the Air Force was short-lived due to an unexpected eye exam result, it led me to an invaluable opportunity. The Dean of Dentistry at that time allowed me to work alongside dentists in the North, an experience that shaped the kind of dentist I aspired to become. Graduating, I ventured west but found myself longing for the warmth of the sun, ultimately settling in South Winnipeg. I gained diverse experiences working in various dental offices, even spending time in Nunavut.
Life took a beautiful turn when I met my wife, and together, we established our roots in Headingly, raising our children. Now, after these fulfilling chapters, we’re embarking on our next big adventure – Grenkow Dental.
At Grenkow Dental, our vision is to offer patients compassionate and practical dental care that lasts a lifetime. We’re dedicated to continuing this commitment, providing gentle care and support to our community for years to come.
